Description
Hanna Instruments® Colorimeter, High Range Ammonia Checker® HC, 0.0 to 99.9 ppm, HI733
Features:
- Handheld colorimeter is simple, accurate, and cost effective way to measure high ranges of ammonia in fresh water
- Present in water as a component of nitrogen cycle, ammonia is excreted from animals and other organisms such as heterotrophic bacteria, actinomycetes, and fungi during the metabolism of proteins and amino acids
- Generally present in small quantities in unpolluted waters, higher levels indicate organic pollution and is toxic to aquatic life
- Designed as a more accurate alternative to chemical test kits and it provides quick, accurate results in four easy steps:
- Step One - Add 1 mL of sample and 9 mL of reagent B to the included cuvette(s)
- Step Two - Insert sample into the Checker®HC and zero it out
- Step Three - Remove sample and add reagent A
- Step Four - Reinsert sample and click the button to measure your results or . . . Press and hold the button for 3 seconds for a time reaction reading
- The Checker®HC Ammonia colorimeter uses an adaption of the ASTM Manual of Water and Enviornmental Technology, D1426-92 Nessler method
- Reaction between ammonia and the reagents causes a yellow tint in the sample
Benefits:
- Easier to use and more accurate than chemical test kits
- Small palm-sized design
- Accurate from ±1.0 ppm; ±5% of reading
- Dedicated to single parameter
- Uses a single AAA battery
- Auto Power-Off after 10 minutes of inactivity
- Built-in timer for timed reaction readings
- Six-month warranty
