- Method requires reagent that contains both reducing and complexing agent which converts all but very most resistant forms of iron present in sample to ferrous (Fe2+) or soluble state
- Sample containing iron will turn an orange hue; the greater the concentration, deeper the color
- Range: 0.00 to 5.00 ppm iron
