Description
Parr Instruments® Microwave Acid Digestion Vessel, 23 mL, 4781
Features:
- Fast digestion times — many materials requiring exposures of less than one minute to obtain complete dissolution
- Rapid cycle time allows for step digestions either by addition of acid in several steps or using different acids in steps to dissolve inorganics once organic matrix is destroyed
- Temperatures to 250 °C
- Pressures to 1200 psi
- Complete containment of volatiles
- Freedom from metal contamination with high strength polymer vessels
- Chemically-inert vessels in which microwave heating can be used for rapid sample dissolution in sealed vessel
- Can be placed directly in microwave oven for specific, high speed heating to drastically reduce time required to dissolve or digest analytical sample
- Made in two sizes that can be heated in any of commercial microwave ovens regularly offered for household use — no specially constructed and/or vented ovens required
- High strength design provides much more vigorous action than can be obtained with open-cup microwave digestion systems which are restricted to lower temperatures and pressures
- No loss of volatile matter from these sealed vessels and microwave oven is not exposed to corrosive acid fumes
- Several safety features built into vessel construction
- Self-sealed with PTFE O-ring
- Over-pressure prevented by compressible relief disc that operates in conjunction with O-ring cup seal — disc releases support to O-ring at approximately 1500 psi allowing O-ring to blow out
- Pressure indicator is by retaining screw, which is normally flush with top of vessel cap, will protrude above top surface as pressure increases at approximate rate of 1/32 inch for each 500 psi
- Outer body and screw cap made of microwave-transparent polymer maintains good strength up to about 150 °C — outside body seldom reaches above 50 °C thanks to its insulating power which keeps heat inside vessel
