The CAF G5 is designed to test ash fusibility, and optionally, the increasingly popular determination of biomass or solid recovered fuels testing and conforms to the Standards ISO 540:2008; ASTM D1857/D1857M-04 (2010); DD CEN/TS 15370-1:2006 (biomass); DD CEN/TR 15404:2010 (solids recovered fuels (SRF)).  Its automatic and continuous recording digital images frees the technician for other tasks while tests are in progress with the ability to review the results later.  This new system greatly enhances both the quality of the images and test results which increases the efficiency of the laboratory.  With maximum temperature of 1600 °C (2910 °F), this instrument is suitable for both biomass and coal testing.  Also, it can be equipped with an optional work tube integrated lighting system for testing low "initial deformation" temperature of SRF or biomass samples.
