Description
Hanna Instruments® Fluoride Half-Cell Ion Selective Electrode (ISE), FC301B
Features:
- Solid state sensor for determination of fluoride in water
- Detection from 0.02 mg/L to saturated F-
- For use with 92-2801-33 (Hanna's HI5315) reference half-cell to complete the measurement system
- Potentiometric half-cell housed within epoxy body
- Internal elements are isolated from sample by lanthanum fluoride crystal membrane
- Reference half-cell features cone style junction
- Skirted cone geometry of reference forms liquid junction with test solution at tip of junction cone, producing highly stable reference potential and consistent flow rates of electrolyte into solution
- Simply press of top portion of ISE for easy to empty electrolyte fill solution and replace when necessary
- For accurate measurement of total fluoride concentration, it is important that pH and ionic strength of standards and sample be adjusted to constant value
- Total ionic strength adjustment buffer (TISAB) ensures that solution pH is between pH 5 and 8 and that activity coefficient is constant
- TISAB solution also preferentially complexes with various metal ions, such as aluminum and iron, which tend to form complexes with fluoride ions, thus ensuring that these metal ions do not interfere, permitting accurate total fluoride measurement
- Measuring all solutions with constant pH and ionic strength reduces margin of error between measurements
- FC301B fluoride solid state ISE can measure from 1µM (0.02 mg/L) to saturated
