Description
Hanna Instruments ® General Purpose pH Electrode Cleaning Solution, 500 mL, HI7061L
Features:
- Appearance: colorless liquid
- CAS Nos.: Components of mixture at non-reportable levels
- Clean the liquid junctions of pH electrodes to prevent clogging and to maintain accuracy
- Maintenance can be performed once daily or at least once per week by immersing electrode in cleaning solution for about 15 to 20 minutes, eliminating dirt or other deposits from electrode
- Most common cause for pH measurement inaccuricies is unclean or improperly cleaned electrode
- This is very important to note, because during calibration, instrument assumes that electrode is clean and that standaridation curve created during calibration process will remain valid reference until next calibration
- pH meters will allow an offset voltage of approximately ± 60mV
- deviation from 0 mV is not unusual but ideally should be no greater than ± 30 mV
- Calibration process compensates for change in offset voltage
- If the mV offset continues to deviate and meter is calibrated with dirty electrode then inaccurate readings will result
- In time, particles during routine measurement can contaminate sensor tip
- Mishandled and aged solutions can also be affected
- Meter can still be calibrated even if electrode sensor tip is not properly cleaned before calibration
- If the contamination dissipates due to rinsing after calibration, then calibration is no longer valid and readings are inaccurate
- Proper cleaning and fresh solution ensures whole surface of sensor tip is reading correctly, ensuring accurate calibration and accurate readings
- Specially formulated for cleaning electrodes
- Air tight seal to ensure quality
- Expiration date and lot number stamped on bottle
