Especially useful in coal preparation plant design and/oroperating control data for particle size measurements of fine granularmaterials that resist dry sieving. Samples can be introduced to Wet-Vacin dry, wet, or slurry form. Beginning a test with a dry sample permitsan initial period of dry screening before introduction of water.Wet-Vac's predetermined spray periods for each sieve, and operator'scontrol of vibration intensity permits uniform testing conditions forcomparative and reproducible results. Wet Sieving overcomes particleagglomeration, pancaking, electrostatic attraction and other problemswhich inhibit separation of many fine materials. Gilson's Wet-Vac isdesigned to provide advantages of wet sieve testing while minimizingproblems with liquid handling and fines recovery encountered withmanual methods

Features

• Dry sieving (with vibration only) can be performed. Eightor more sieves may be used, and Wet-Vac models are available for 8""(203mm) and 12"" (305mm) diameter sieves.
• Essential parts are stainless steel, and the entire systemis housed in a rolling cabinet.
• Vibration with rheostat controlled amplitude of sieves andfilter at 3600 vpm disperses material on sieves and aids in passage ofwater by breaking surface tension. Constant vacuum of about 2"" (50.8mm)of mercury is applied during the test cycle.
• A recirculating system pumps water at 0 to 35 psi from a 7gallon (26.5L) holding tank. Wet-Vac is designed for operationindependent of tap and drain connections, but valving is provided topermit direct connections for a once-through operation. Water is pumpedto the rotary spray bar above the top sieve and to a hose-mounted handspray nozzle used for cleaning and flushing. An upward spray from belowthe sieve stack clears the filter paper and promotes water flow.
• Three models are available for 12"" (305mm) or 8"" (203mm)sieves. Internal water recycle or ""once-through"" system. Internalvacuum system is always in operation during wet sieving. Rotating sievespray provides efficient water distribution. Subsieve material recoveryis provided by filter at base of stack. Up to 8 sieves can be used atone time.
