Features:
- Samples of coal used to calibrate instruments designed to determine ease with which coal can be pulverized
- Certified reference material —calibration standards for Hardgrove Grindability Index Apparatus
- HGI-RM is prepared in series of steps over several days
- Hardgrove Grindability Index is calculated on four splits (or portions), two each taken from two reserved cans
- Results are averaged to give the index for entire lot
- HGI-RM come in sets of four, containing four standards of approximate HGI values 40, 60, 80, and 100
- Use as periodic standardization check to insure compliance to ASTM standard methods
- Cans of standard reference sample are shipped to customers along with Certificate of Analysis and questionnaire designed by ASTM to obtain data on quality of sample
