The Model SNF furnace is used in the determination of the crucible swelling number of coal in accordance with ISO 501. Maximum temperature is 900º C.

Features

• Maximum temperature is 900º C. Heating elements are Yttria stabilized Iron Chrome Aluminum alloy resistance wire wound around a SiO2 tube. The temperature sensor is NiCr/NiAI thermocouple Type K.
• The nature of the test requires the heating furnace lid is open. As a safety measure, a 30mA residual current circuit breaker is built into the furnace. Available with an over-temperature protection option.
• The power control is and encapsulated solid-state relay with zero voltage switching control and over voltage spike protection.
• The control circuit includes power-on indication, instrumentation on/off switch and a heater on light, in parallel with the heating elements. The temperature controller provides status information and in the event of thermocouple failure, will shut down the furnace.
• Available with an over-temperature protection option.
• Crucibles, crucible lids and holder must be ordered separately.
• Furnace chamber dimensions: 55mm D x 85mm Deep; 330mm H x 410mm W x 300mm D. Overall dimensions: 330mm H x 410mm W x 300mm D. Net weight is 26kg.
