Features:

  • Total of seven different modules are offered for 4848 Controller
  • Maximum of three expansion modules in addition to primary temperature control can be installed in 4848 Controller
  • User can select either Tachometer Display Module or the Motor Control Module
  • This either/ or option also applies to High Temperature Cut Off and External Temperature Limit Modules
  • In MCM configuration, module provides true closed loop feedback control of reactor stirring speed
  • Primary output of this module is wired to dynamically adjust motor voltage in response to changes in motor loading
  • This provides better reactor stirring speed regulation than standard open loop speed control, especially with reactions that involve changing viscosities
  • Additionally, use of this module allows stirring speed set point to be adjusted remotely from host PC
  • Byproduct of this closed loop speed control scheme is that value of primary controller output directly reflects degree of loading on motor in order to maintain constant stirring speed
  • While not direct torque measurement, this is useful option for those who want to monitor progress of reaction where there is change in viscosity as reaction proceeds
